LGBTQI+ Needs and Assets Assessment Final Findings and Recommendations
Recommended Action
Receive a report from the LGBTQI+ Needs and Assets Subcommittee and adopt the following recommendations:
1. Explore opportunities to partner with the County and non-profits to identify a Mountain View or other North County location for LGBTQ+ community services.
2. Explore ways to further include LGBTQ+ seniors in senior services, and bring LGBTQ+ youth and elders together.
3. Ensure that city events reflect the full diversity of Mountain View, including the LGBTQ+ community.
4. Explore opportunities to partner with the County Office of LGBTQ Affairs to:
a. Make LGBTQ+ sensitivity training to all City staff
b. Support further dialogue between law enforcement and the LGBTQ+ community about bullying, hate crime reporting, same-sex intimate partner violence, and other safety issues.
