Community Services Department Master Plans Update  
Assistant Community Services Director Sylvia updated the Commission on the  
Biodiversity Strategy and Urban Forest Plan.  
Community Services Director Marchant updated the Commission on the Parks and  
Recreation Strategic Plan.

Villa Park Conceptual Review and Recommendation, Project 21-61  
Faryal presented a report and answered the Commission's questions.

M/S Davis/Sommer- To recommend the following for approval to the City Council:  
A modification of concept D that would minimize the playground area shown and increase  
the open area, maintain an entry feature and incorporate a landmark terminus to Chiquita  
that might have a specimen or fruit trees, incorporate unobtrusive fencing that increases  
the sense of public accessibility, and include natural climbing elements in the playground  
area along with two swings.  
Commissioner Bryant made a friendly amendment to add game tables and Commissioner  
Sommer made a friendly amendment to add bike racks.  
Commissioner Davis accepted the friendly amendments.  
Commissioner Bryant made a friendly amendment to further emphasize importance of  
native plants.  
Commissioner Davis accepted the friendly amendment.  
The Commission voted on the motion and all friendly amendments.

Assistant Community Services Director Sylvia updated the Commission on the Arbor Day  
giveaway and the Shoreline Wildlife Management Plan Environmental Awareness  
Training.  
Community Services Director Marchant updated the Commission on Recreation  
programming.

Chair Filios adjourned the meeting at 9:29 pm.

number of speakers, the Chair may reduce speaking time to no less than 1.5 minutes per speaker unless there is an  
objection from the Commission by majority vote.  
Pursuant to Government Code Section 54954.3(b)(1), at least twice the allotted speaking time will be provided to a  
member of the public who utilizes a translator.
