Update and Discussion Related to the City’s Commitment to Engage the Community in Meaningful Dialog and Take Action Toward a Vision of Racial Justice and Equity in Mountain View and Renewed Public Trust in Law Enforcement
Recommended Action
a) Receive an update on the Police Department use of force policies for alignment with best practice recommendations, including those advocated by 8 Can’t Wait, Campaign Zero, and the California Attorney General.
b) Discuss the scope of community conversations and other potential events and activities to take place, including engagement goals, potential formats, participants, and assistance from the Human Relations Commission.
c) Discuss next steps, potential topics for future Subcommittee meetings, and timing and methods for reporting back to the City Council.
